Our home was in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia until we left in August 2016, and we will no doubt come back to live in BC when we return after our adventure. Mayaluga is now our “home” for the time being, where ever that may be.
Take a moment or two and check out our intended route and completed legs which are detailed in the table below.
Well ….. you can make this a reality in your life! Join us on a leg or two aboard the fine ship, Mayaluga on a “shared expense” basis. Firstly, we only take you aboard if you are a friend or part of our extended family. Exceptions may be made for those who come highly recommended by friends or family!! Simply contact us to discuss options. We would love to have you aboard anywhere from a few days to a week or two, or three or four or even more!
We DO NOT charge for the privilege of coming aboard. Repeat … we do NOT charge! We do however ask you to contribute to the expenses incurred while you are aboard with us. This is negotiable depending on the circumstances and the location. Longer ocean-going legs may require less contribution on a daily basis because you may be tasked with helping to run the vessel and take regular watches.
Typically expenses include food, a glass of wine or two in the evenings, towels, sheets and blankets or sleeping bags. It also includes use of the inflatable dinghy and fuel for the outboard. Your contribution also defrays the running of Mayaluga and includes, diesel fuel, maintenance and other supplies such as water and oil filters. It also includes the high-pressure osmosis membranes for our water desalinator. Finally, the fact of the matter is, guests aboard any vessel have a tendancy to be hard on equipment and “break” things; not because of carelessness, but generally because everything is strange and unfamiliar.
